The reduction of rotation as a tool for forest adaptation to future risk of dieback induced by drought event.

BREDA N. & BRUNETTE M., 2014. The reduction of rotation as a tool for forest adaptation to future risk of dieback induced by drought event. Document de travail du LEF n°2014-03. 27 pages.

The ECODOUG project is a pilot study aimed at informing forest management choices in the presence of uncertainty about climate change using the tools of economic calculation in the presence of risk and uncertainty. The study area selected is a Douglas-fir site already studied in the DRYADE project and including a forest managed by the Société Forestière de la Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.
The project will provide economic insight into the reduction of rotations as an adaptation strategy and will provide lines of thought by taking into account the risk of production loss and drought-induced dieback in the assessment of the economic balance of a reduction of rotations. The project will provide a "pilot" document that can serve as a model for subsequent applications in other, more complex contexts.
